• Failure to cooperate with agency: It’s often in a person’s best interest to productively engage with the SSA, especially during the application process. To do so, those wanting benefits must usually give the SSA the proper documentation, show up to scheduled medical exams and remain in good standing with the person handling their case. Applicants can appeal their denial

Despite their rejection, those looking to obtain disability benefits can appeal their decision. Typically, applicants have around two months to do so. However, if they wait longer than 60 days, they usually have to start the process all over again, which may not look good on their appeal.
